Common name:California Sycamore
Botanical name:Platanus racemosa

The California Sycamore is a fast growing deciduous tree that reaches up to 40'-50' high. It tolerates heat, smog, as well as moist conditions; it is native to riparian areas. It can be drought tolerant once it's established if there is a high water table. It has interesting mottled bark when the tree is bare in winter. Leaves in fall are gold, red and orange, creating litter. It is beautiful all year round.

Fox Tail Agave, Velvet Agave

Common name:Fox Tail Agave, Velvet Agave
Botanical name:Agave attenuata

This Agave has a dramatic tropical form. Even light frost can damage its succulent leaves. It is great for containers. In the low desert, partial sun will be best. If it becomes top heavy, simply cut and stick in the ground to root. It is not a fast grower and has light green foliage. It will also die after flowering but pups around the mother will survive. Distinctive with its large rosette of leaves perched on a long curving trunk, it is a native from Mexico.

Pink Abelia

Common name:Pink Abelia
Botanical name:Abelia X grandiflora 'Edward Goucher'

This medium-sized evergreen shrub blooms all summer, displaying small, pink bell-shaped flowers. It has a naturally arching form.

Green Lavender Cotton

Common name:Green Lavender Cotton
Botanical name:Santolina rosmarinifolia

Santolina is an amazingly tough plant with small, yellow, button-sized flowers that cover the 3' tall and 3' wide shrub in the summer months. The green leaves are very thin and needle like. This plant requires absolutely no care in most environments once established. Too much water will lead to mortality. Best grown in well drained soils.

Ground Cover Bougainvillea, Rosenka

Common name:Ground Cover Bougainvillea, Rosenka
Botanical name:Bougainvillea ground cover 'Rosenka'

This tender, subtropical evergreen does best with full sun; when established, it needs infrequent watering and feeding. It should be exposed to as little frost as possible. The bracts age to a salmond pick color in summer and fall. 'Rosenka' quickly reaches 3'-4' tall and 4'-6' wide, with a mounding, cascading habit. Be careful not to damage roots. Prune in springtime.
